Saint Joseph Academy's Pre-Kindergarten 3 Program consists of a comprehensive curriculum of educational as well as social skills, approved by the Archdiocese of Newark. The tuition includes supplies and snacks. A daily hot or cold lunch is available for purchase.
Our full-day schedule is concurrent with that of Saint Joseph Academy. Our actual class time is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a daily rest period. For your convenience, the doors open at 7 a.m. After care is available from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. for an additional fee.

2010-2011 PRE-KINDERGARTEN 3 YEAR OLD PROGRAM REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

   1. Pre-Kindergarten 3 is a full-day session, five days a week (8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) However, accommodations can be made for youngsters needing more time to transition to a full day program. Please see the tuition contract for details. The child must be three years old on or before October 1, 2010 or have turned four after October 1, 2009.

   2. A copy of the birth certificate and baptismal certificate must be submitted.

   3. A record of all inoculations must be submitted and approved by the school nurse before acceptance.

   4. All new students are required to have a physical examination. The “Universal Child Health Record” is attached. Physicals must be completed by May 15, 2010 and submitted to the school. Any questions please feel free to call our school nurses, Mrs. Kelly Sepp or Mrs. Emily Wong.

   5. White Emergency Card – please complete and return as soon as possible. Please include any known allergies on the back of the card – please include all cell phone numbers, as well. Information is kept private. The card is given at registration.

   6. A $150 (one hundred fifty dollars) registration fee is due at the time of registration. If there are 2 children entering Pre-K at one time, the registration fee is $200 (two hundred dollars).

TUITION WITH FULL PARTICIPATION

They understand that they will be charged Full Participation Tuition. In order to qualify for this tuition they must:

1. If you are of the Catholic Faith, attend Sunday Mass, and use the Saint Joseph Church envelopes regularly with a minimum donation of $10 weekly.
2. Purchase a total of $2,000 of grocery certificates per year.
3. Purchase $70 of Gift Wrap or 1 Ticket to our Main Fund Raiser.
4. Sell or purchase ten (10) Calendar Raffle Tickets
5. Work twenty (20) points of service to the school.
6. Attend the scheduled Home School Association Meetings

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

2. A copy of the birth certificate and baptismal certificate must be submitted.
3. A record of all inoculations must be submitted and approved by the school nurse before acceptance.
4. All new students are required to have a physical examination. Examination cards are provided by the school -- Physicals must be completed by May 15th. and submitted to the school.
5. If a child has attended a pre-kindergarten, a progress report or letter of recommendation must be submitted. If the child is classified, all pertinent information must be provided.
6. New / Transfer Students (grades 1-7) must also submit report cards, standardized test scores and other pertinent information (if the child is classified, all pertinent information) must be provided. Complete academic and medical records will be required at the end of the school year. In addition, transfer students (Gr. 3-7) proof of reception of Reconciliation and Eucharist are required.
7. Parent(s) should be accompanied by the prospective student.
8. FULL PAYMENT of registration fees is mandatory at the time of registration.
9. TUITION PAYMENTS must be current in order to register siblings.

If these requirements are not met, registration for the 2010-2011 school year will not be processed.

St. Joseph Academy EXTENDED CARE PROGRAM was established to provide a service to the parents of children attending our school. The program consists of extended care and homework time along with other activities. Qualified personnel supervise all aspects of the program. The program will start the first full day of school. September 14, 2009.

You will be billed by the Rectory Office at the end of each month for those families utilizing a monthly fee schedule or a per diem fee schedule. Checks should be made payable to “St. Joseph Academy Extended Care”.

Any child not picked up at the end of the school day will be sent to the Extended Care Program. The parents will be charged the daily rate. Once the child has entered the program, he/she is considered there for the day, regardless of the amount of time they have stayed. Continuous “drop in” use of the program will require registration of the child.

All children must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. A late fee of $10.00 will be charged for each additional fifteen (15) minute period that the child remains after 6:00 p.m.

Children will be released only to their parent or to a designated representative, whose name is listed on the registration form and who will sign the child/ren out for the day. The children will be picked up from the kindergarten entrance.
